The Deere 344L is the latest compact wheel loader from Moline, Illinois,-based John Deere, one of the largest agriculture and construction equipment manufacturers in the world. This versatile and highly maneuverable machine offers an impressive lift capacity, massive bucket capacity (up to 2.6 cubic yards or 2 cubic meters), and a powerful engine that lets you get more done, faster than you thought possible.

    A Real Go-Getter

Articulated loaders are known for having tight turning radiuses and excellent maneuverability, but Deere takes it to the next level on the 344L. This machine features the company’s exclusive Articulation Plus steering system, which refers to the loader’s 30 degrees of articulation plus 10 degrees of rear-wheel steering. This lets the 344L handle heavier tipping loads at a full turn, make even tighter turns, and do so with more stability compared to models that lack the feature. Another feature operators will appreciate is the improved vertical lift and a travel speed boost that enables the 344L to reach a top speed of 25 mph (40.2 km/h).

Under the hood, Deere installed a Tier 4 PowerTech 4045T engine capable of producing up to 103 horsepower. The throttle lock and creep control enable low-speed applications where the operator needs to maintain maximum power to the attachment. By managing the power delivery to the wheels, the 344L’s Rimpull Control feature can prevent tire spin, and as a result, improve tire and driveline lifespan.

    Better, Inside & Out

Deere didn’t just overhaul the wheel loader’s productivity capabilities, it also made the cab roomier and more comfortable for operators. Visibility from the cab is improved, as well, and there is an optional air-ride high-back chair to further improve the operator’s experience. Thanks to the smooth-shifting automatic transmission and low-effort controls, the 344L is even easier to drive.

Additional extras that you’ll find on the 344L include a more efficient engine cooling system, easy-access cooling core, reversible cooling fan for blowing out debris, and ground-level access to components that require routine maintenance. Whether you’re using a bucket or fork attachment, the new loader-arm and coupler design improved the horizontal stability through the lift-path, ensuring as much material as possible gets where you want it to go.
