Liebherr, a Swiss construction equipment and crane manufacturer, has broken ground on a construction project in Newport News, Virginia that will become the Liebherr USA Company’s new headquarters.

    Committed To The U.S.

According to company the press release, the expansion will erect three new buildings adjacent to the company’s existing headquarters building. The $45 million project will result in a state-of-the-art administrative building, a warehouse and parts distribution center, and a modernized production and workshop facility.

Altogether, the new buildings will account for more than 251,000 square feet of space, and serve a vital role in the continued production of Liebherr cranes, and construction and concrete equipment. The space is expected to house administration, finance, marketing, human resources, sales and service, product support, production, and distribution departments for eight product divisions.

In 2020, when the construction of Liebherr’s new headquarters is complete, the company will be celebrating 50 years of operating in North America, at the Newport News site. The firm is optimistic for the future, which is why it’s willing to make such a bold new investment.
