John Deere Introduces New MH60D Mulching Head Attachment
John Deere is adding the MH60D mulching head to its Worksite Pro series of construction and forestry attachments. The MH60D features a 60-inch (152-centimeter) high-capacity rotor with 2.5 inch (6-centimeter) sealed rotor bearings designed for maximum performance and enhanced durability. The attachment, which is purpose-built for removing 8-inch (20-centimeter) trees and 12-inch (30-centimeter) stumps, works with John Deere compact track loaders and skid steers as well as with machines from other manufacturers. It’s fully supported by the company parts, service, and warranty coverage.
“With 30 double-carbide tipped teeth, our new mulching head attachment is a job site beast that easily takes big bites out of trees and stumps,” says Jessica Hill, global program manager, attachments, at John Deere. “It's an invaluable tool for customers who need a powerful mulching solution, no matter the tree type or location.”
Important Features
The John Deere MH60D has a two-speed hydraulic system and pressure gauge that makes it easier to maintain the proper rotor speed and torque for mulching wood and other materials. The company redesigned the mulching chamber of the attachment to move materials in and out more efficiently. It comes with standard counter-combs for “creating finer mulch,” and there are “optional knife tools” that “allow smoother cutting and finer chip size,” according to the manufacturer. The John Deere MH60D also features a heavy-duty, three-position push bar to protect the main machine, a more durable frame construction, and bolt-on skid shoes that prevent materials from building up and wearing down components.
