John Deere Announces Partnership With Pheasants Forever & Quails Forever
John Deere recently announced a partnership that will offer discounts on new equipment for members of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. In addition to discounts on tractors, mowers, rotary cutters, and other equipment, John Deere will also become the “Official Habitat Tractor,” as recognized by the two “Forever” organizations, sponsor a Conservation Farmer of the Year Award, and sponsor a Precision Ag Workshop during the 2019 National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic.
Hand-In-Hand
Pheasants Forever is a habitat improvement organization that has handled over 17 million acres of habitat over the course of 36 years. John Deere can aid in that effort with technologies like John Deere Precision Ag, which can help landowners find sections of land that aren’t fit for crops with the help of yield maps and other data.
Farmers could then choose to plant grass and alfalfa on that land or become a part of the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), which offers a yearly payment to people that “remove environmentally sensitive land from agricultural production and plant species that will improve environmental health and quality,” according to the Farm Service Agency.
“John Deere is interested in promoting wildlife habitat and finding innovative ways to help farmers, ranchers and landowners turn marginal, unproductive acres into more profitable wildlife habitat,” says Travis Becton, director of sales for John Deere. “There are many positives that can come from John Deere and Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever working together. We have a large portfolio of equipment and technology that can be used to improve wildlife habitats, keep waterways clean, and protect soils while reclaiming what were previously less productive acres.”
Other Partnerships
John Deere also offers discounts and other benefits to organizations like the American Farm Bureau Federation, American Quarter Horse Association, and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
