    About Track Log Loaders

Track log loaders are a bit slower and less maneuverable than wheel log loaders, but their greater stability makes them an asset for moving timber up and around steep inclines and on softer, shifting terrain.

    About Track Log Loaders

Logging operations depend on track log loaders to load and unload trucks for logging operations, and in some cases, to fetch logs from hard-to-reach areas and carry them to a landing area for processing and/or transport. Like other log loader varieties, track log loaders use a hydraulic boom and grapple to pick up and move timber. Track loaders vary in size and lifting capacity, and can be outfitted with grapples designed either for lifting one log at a time or for lifting and carrying multiple logs.

    Track vs. Other Types

Track log loaders are generally considered to be a bit more stable than other loader types, especially when used on steep inclines and rugged or shifting terrain. This includes times when inclement weather conditions may make things tough for wheeled alternatives. And while they may not have the same height and lifting capabilities of some stationary models or the speed of wheel models, they make up for that with more deliberate mobility that helps them operate in hard-to-reach places that other machines may not be able to go.

    Decision Time

With so many different track log loaders to choose from, ForestryTrader.com makes it easy to find new and used models for sale that will fit the needs of your operation. You’ll find units from manufacturers including Barko, Caterpillar, Deere, Doosan, Hitachi, and Link-Belt, just to name a few.
