They may drive their disc using hydraulic power, a belt and clutch, or other means. Like their self-propelled brethren, they may come with remote controls, LCD displays, or swingout controls for the operator’s use.

Built into a two-wheel trailer, a tow behind stump cutter may feature electric brakes, LED brake lights, and other common upgrades. Many have telescoping or otherwise extendable tongues and manual or hydraulic jack stands to keep them level when disconnected from the towing vehicle.
